Congratulations to Fox Mulder and Dana Scully on the birth of their new baby, William. May they continue their festivities with many more kisses just like that :)

Puppies and kitties and bunnies...oh my!
Today marks one week since I began my employment at Springfield Animal Hospital. I maintain the smooth title of "Kennel Technician" as I feed, love, exercise, and clean up after the various beasts we board and heal. It's been a great experience so far...clients and co-workers are friendly and pets are lovable and compliant (for the most part). It's hard not to play favorites, but some of these animals are absolutely unforgettable. Who could forget Texas, the little wiener dog who perches on my shoulder to prevent being put back in his cage? And I love Molly, the Brittany Spaniel who gives hugs as soon as you let her out to play. And of course there's Elvis, the nicest cat ever who rolls over and makes my day by looking exceedingly cute.
On a more serious note, we do have pets here at the hospital that are currently homeless. If anyone is interested in adopting a dog or cat, please let me know. Here are some short profiles:
Buster is a medium brown terrier mix who has never had a stable home. He is a wonderful dog once he gets to know you. He gets along superbly with other dogs and has shown some progress from minimal training.
Shadow is a small to medium black terrier mix. She needs a patient home willing to make efforts with housebreaking. Although she does not get along with other dogs, she adores people and loves to play.
Diva was abandoned at the hospital by her owners during her boarding. She is a lovable Dalmatian mix and gets along well with people and other dogs. She is relatively quiet and very sweet. My personal assessment is that she would make an excellent therapy dog.
Libby is a gray domestic short hair, rescued by one of our technicians. She is a sweet, docile, fat cat and is very clean.

It's all done. My exams have been bitch-slapped...or at the very least given painful noogies.
At this, I bid farewell to Junior year...an interesting, hectic time of roller-coaster emotions and the realization of reality. It was a wonderful opportunity to make new friends, and share new experiences with my old friends. And while I can't name everyone, I'd like to say a little something nice about the people that have made life tolerable this past year (and just to be fair, I'm going alphabetically):
To Alicia, for always being genuine...and an awesome track star!
To Alison, for the quality time I've so dearly missed.
To Andrew, for courage enough to be my roommate next year :)
To Ben, for provoking me and making me think, even though I resisted sometimes.
To Brian, for the wacky links and for being so understanding.
To Carolyne for an awesome time and cross-cultural roomie experience :)
To Carrie, for helping me to feel truly involved in CCM.
To Casey and Katie, the best graduating social work majors the Class of 2001 will know.
To Catherine, for putting up with my weirdness with a great deal of patience.
To Chrissy and Lauren, my top notch Phi Alphan officers.
To Cindy for the gossip and lovely shopping excursions :)
To Doug, for the nights on the town.
To Eileen, for always letting our friendship reminisce and grow.
To Jason, for helping me to figure out what a good social worker is and isn't. And the rides :)
To Jenn, for never failing to make me laugh.
To Jenni, for hostessing, "reference" aids, and general cuteness.
To Judy for your spontanaeity and superb dinner parties!
To Justin, for your help, good nature, and endless entertainment. Siiiiiigh... ;)
To Justinne, for EVERYTHING and the Vatican shot glass :)
To Lauren...it's very few people we meet in life that we just know at the start we'll be great friends with. Thank you for letting me know what that's like.
To Lindsey for being an excellent conversationalist and terrific friend...of this I'm surely not misinformed :)
To Michael Carter for being awesome and allowing me to be so obnoxious.
To Micky G for the college parties that broke the mold.
To Regan, for the hot, hot action :)
To Rob, for the love.
To Shannon, for being kind and quirky all in one.
To Shawn...for being you.
To Stacy, for the parking camaraderie and the N'Sync campout.
To Tara for for the fun and vicarious marital bliss :)
And to all the rest of you, be sure I haven't forgotten, but I'm starting to feel the carpal tunnel cramping up :) Also, great thanks to my parents, Ian, and my professors, especially Jorge, Greg, Karen, and Gerri for putting up with my neuroticism. To those of you who still have exams, good luck, I'll be praying for you. After my nap :)
